Tour Overview

DAY 1 – Arrival and Embarkation for your Sai Lake Nasser Cruise

When people book tours and cruises through us, they need to worry about nothing at all. So, when you are heading to Abu Simbel for your Sai Lake Nasser cruise, know that one of our tour representatives will be there to welcome you at Aswan, and to help ensure you enjoy a smooth and hassle free check-in when you arrive at the beautiful Sai Dahabiya boat.

At around midday, you will be served your first onboard lunch, and you can expect it to be a really nice lunch prepared by a qualified chef, and made from the very best ingredient that are to be found in the region. Your chef will be preparing various Egyptian and international dishes throughout your cruise, so there will be plenty of mouthwatering variety.

Shortly after eating, you will then disembark and you will be taken to see Abu Simbel Temple which is essentially two huge rock-hewn temples located alongside each other. After the Giza pyramids near Cairo, these two temples are the second-most recognizable ancient monuments in the country. They are well and truly beyond words

After exploring these amazing temples, you will return to your Dahabiya in time for some afternoon tea, and you will sail to Kasr Ibrim to see an ancient fortress.

Also known as Qasr Ibrim, the Citadel of Kasr Ibrim was built by Roman engineers and at the time, it was the strongest fortress in the entire Nile Valley. After the Aswan High Dam was built, the rising waters flooded all of what was once the city of Kasr Ibrim. Today, the fortress is visible, along with the top of the hill on which it was built.

The island and fortress is off limits to everyone apart from Archeologists. However, Dahabiya boats, because of their small size, are able to get really close.

Later, you will have the option of going to see a sound and lights show as well, but since this is optional, tickets are not included in the price of you Sai Lake Nasser cruise.

Enjoy a wonderful dinner aboard the Sai Dahabiya, and have a wonderful sleep on the water at Abu Simbel.

Meals Included: Lunch and Dinner

DAY 2 – Amada Tombs Excursion and Cruise to Wadi El Seboua

Begin the 2nd day of your Sai Lake Nasser cruise with another hearty breakfast on the water. After breakfast, you will then be taken to visit three fascinating ancient sites: the Temple of Amada; the Temple of Derr, and the Tomb of Penout. All three of these sites are incredible, and visiting them will be an experience which you are unlikely to forget in your lifetime.

Following your visit to these ancient wonders, everyone will once again board the Sai Dahabiya, and it will begin sailing towards Wadi El Seboua where it will tie up for the night. Lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner will of course be served on board the boat.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

DAY 3 – Temples Wadi El Seboua , Dakka Temple, and Cruise to Aswan

Start your day with another delicious onboard breakfast, and then it will be time to disembark for a visit to the Temples of Wadi El Seboua, both of which are located in an area known as Valley of the Lions. As with several other temples found along the shores of Lake Nasser, the Temples of Wadi El Seboua were also dismantled and moved to higher ground when the water level of Lake Nasser started rising following the construction of the Aswan High Dam.

After you have had ample time to explore the two fascinating sites, you will return to your Dahabiya in time for another delicious lunch. Shortly after lunch you will be enjoying another wonderful excursion, this time to see the ancient Temple of Dakka. Interestingly, this temple was originally only a 1-room chapel or shrine, but it was added to and extended on several occasions, and was eventually converted into a temple fortress by the Romans

After exploring this remarkable site, you with then once again board your Sai Lake Nasser cruise, and you will enjoy a nice slow cruise to Aswan. Enjoy your last dinner on board the boat, and spent the last night of your cruise on the water at Aswan.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

DAY 4 – Beit El Wali and Kalabsha Temples, Disembarkation, and Departure

Wake up to another hearty onboard breakfast, and then it will be time to visit Temple of Beit El Wali, an ancient rock-cut temple that was constructed during the reign of Ramesses II. In English, its name translates as House of the Holy Man, which suggests that at some point in history, it was probably occupied by a Christian hermit. After spending some time at this wonder monument, you will then be taken to see Kalabsha Temple.

Built in 30 BC, this ancient temple was never actually completed, but nonetheless, it is still regarded as being one of the finest examples of Egyptian architecture in Nubia. It is also the second largest free-stand ancient structure to have been moved to higher ground in order to save it from flooding. This temple has an abundance of fine reliefs and other artwork, and your Expert guide will be more than happy to explain the significance of these to you.

After you have had plenty of time to explore this amazing site, it will be time for you to return to your Dahabiya so that you can collect your belonging and check out. After that, we will escort you to Aswan Airport or Aswan train station, depending on what your onward travel arrangements are.

Sadly, your Sai Lake Nasser cruise has come to an end, but you will have seen so many wonderful places during your cruise, and even the cruise itself will have been a truly unforgettable experience.

All Nile River cruises and Lake Nasser cruises are wonderful, but there is just something very special about doing this aboard a Dahabiya. From everyone at Egypt Tours Plus, we wish you a safe onward journey, and we will be hoping to see you back again in the future.
