Detailed Itinerary

Morning Hotel Pickup & Transfer to the Giza Plateau

Your licensed female Egyptologist guide and private chauffeur will welcome you at your hotel lobby in Cairo or Giza holding a personalized name sign. Board a modern, climate-controlled vehicle and head toward the Giza Plateau while your guide provides an engaging historical overview of ancient Egypt's Old Kingdom.

The Giza Plateau: Pyramids, Sphinx & Valley Temple

Begin your exploration at the sole surviving Wonder of the Ancient World:

  • The Great Pyramids of Giza: Walk beside the colossal Fourth Dynasty pyramids built for Pharaohs Khufu (Cheops), Khafre (Chephren), and Menkaure (Mykerinos). Learn about the architectural techniques, limestone quarrying, and religious cosmology of the pharaohs.
  • Panoramic Desert Viewpoint: Pause at dedicated scenic vantage points across the desert plateau to take sweeping panoramic photographs framing all three major pyramids together.
  • Valley Temple of Khafre: Tour the preserved pink-granite mortuary temple where ancient priests performed the ceremonial purification and mummification rites (Opening of the Mouth) for Pharaoh Khafre.
  • The Great Sphinx: Stand before the colossal limestone sculpture featuring a lion's body with the regal head of Pharaoh Khafre, guarding the necropolis for millennia.

Museum of Egyptian Antiquities (Tahrir Square)

Depart the Giza Plateau and drive into central Cairo to explore the historic neoclassical Museum of Egyptian Antiquities:

  • Walk through classical galleries housing over 250,000 ancient artifacts spanning five millennia of pharaonic history.
  • Discover gilded royal sarcophagi, intricate jewelry, papyrus scrolls, Old Kingdom statues, and celebrated archaeological relics.

Traditional Papyrus Institute & Historic Bazaar

  • Authentic Papyrus Making: Visit an authentic artisan papyrus workshop to witness the ancient Egyptian method of cutting, pressing, and rolling Cyperus papyrus reeds into the world's earliest writing surface, followed by demonstrations of hand-painted hieroglyphic artwork.
  • Bazaar & Market Stroll: Enjoy a relaxed, guided walk through vibrant traditional market alleys, browsing handcrafted brass lanterns, fragrant essential oils, Egyptian cotton textiles, and alabaster crafts in an authentic setting.
