Tour Highlights
Your Ramasside guide will pick you up from Borg El Arab Airport and transfer you to the world-famous Library of Alexandria. Then, you will visit the Roman Amphitheater and St. Mark's Basilica, the oldest church in Africa. You will also explore the Old City, Nabi Daniel Mosque, and Aboela Bas Mosque, before admiring the gardens of Montaza Palace and the coastline of Alexandria. The day ends with a comfortable transfer back to the airport or hotel.
Tour Details
Your Ramasside guide will meet you at Borg El Arab Airport. You will visit the Library of Alexandria, the largest library in the world, with a collection of 8 million books. Explore the open courtyards where you can see statues of Alexander the Great and Ptolemy I, which were found underwater near the area.
You will visit the library's reading room, the Sadat Museum, and the Impressions of Alexandria Museum.
Note: The Library of Alexandria is closed on Fridays and all public holidays.
You will visit the Roman Amphitheater of Alexandria, where underwater artifacts from the eastern harbor of Alexandria are displayed.
Then, the bus will take you to the oldest church in Africa — St. Mark's Church. After that, you will see the old city of Alexandria, where you can walk through the center of the old city. Visit the traditional market, where various items are sold, including traditional Egyptian sweets and dishes. The local architecture includes Baroque elements, as well as Italian and French styles.
You will visit El Nabi Daniel Mosque, which is associated with the tomb of Alexander the Great. It is said that the mosque houses the remains of the Prophet Daniel and his companion Sidi Lokman Hakim.
Optional: Lunch at a modern seafood restaurant or at Alexandria's famous traditional restaurant, Mohamed Ahmed's, which has been visited by the Queen of Spain and many celebrities.
Optional: Relax at a good café or a traditional café with shisha.
Continue your journey by passing through the oldest Mansheya market and visiting the traditional women's market (Zan'et Etsetat), with very narrow streets and the gold market, where everyone buys jewelry for weddings and engagements.
After that, the bus will take you to the city's most beautiful and large mosque — Abu El Abbas Mosque, as well as the most interesting attraction in front of it: the old amusement park, where children ride the old rides and eat cotton candy.
Opposite is the beach and the old harbor, where you will see old fishing boats, fishermen, and traditional fishermen weaving nets. The photos you take here will be amazing. Continue your journey to see the exterior of Qaitbay Fortress, which was built on the site of the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. This impressive fortress is an excellent spot for photos.
After that, the bus will take you to the Montaza Gardens. On the way, you can make a short stop at the "Mango King" to try fresh juice, as well as stop at the Unknown Soldier Memorial in Alexandria for photos.
On the way to Montaza Gardens, you will see the beautiful coastline and views across the city, including the ancient harbor of Alexandria, where 7,000 underwater artifacts were found.
Upon arriving at Montaza Gardens, also known as the "Garden of Love" (where all romantic couples and families go), you will visit the royal garden of King Farouk (the last king of Egypt), see the royal Haramlik and Salamlik Palaces, as well as the famous Montaza Bridge and the Tea Palace Island, where you will see the royal beach.
On the way back, you will stop at the modern symbol of Alexandria — the famous Stanley Bridge, and then return comfortably to your airport or hotel in Alexandria.
Alexandria has so many attractions, food, and shopping opportunities that if you have time and would like to add something to the program, we will be happy to arrange it — at cost, without profit.
Note: On this tour, you must wear closed and very comfortable flat shoes.
We are very flexible if someone wants to modify the itinerary slightly or add additional attractions.

Professional Photographer:
You can request one of our professional photographers to accompany you to the pyramids or on any tour you wish. Our studio photographers will capture your best angles and expressions at the best locations of your choice, at an additional cost of $50 per day.

Please note that the Library of Alexandria is closed on Fridays and official holidays. An additional ticket is required for entry to the reading room.
